Miss Turnbull's Class 2020 - 2021

Welcome to Miss Turnbull's class page!

A really big welcome to all our new children in Reception! They have all settled in to school life really well and are enjoying learning lots about themselves and their new friends. Since starting September, they have been very busy experiencing a great variety of activities and challenges. They have loved exploring our indoor provision, especially our home corner, construction and small world areas. The children are looking forward to investigating the outdoor provision next week too. We have been learning all about British Values and how we can follow them in our daily lives. To celebrate our individuality, we chose three items from home that best represented our families, interests and us and we shared them with the class. It was great to get to know everybody! In the children's first few weeks we have discussed and thought specifically about how we can be good friends and how to ‘let our light shine’. We particularly enjoyed meeting our Jigsaw mascot, Genie! We spoke about how we can go to her for comfort when we are feeling sad and who we can go to when we need help. The children also enjoyed discussing themes of friendship in our class circles. What a great start to the children's school journey at St Vincent's!
