Loreto Science trip

Miss Carr/Mrs Patiniott’s class have had a fantastic time at Loreto learning different ways to separate materials! We know all about how to filtrate, use magnets to separate metal from other substances and use heat to cause evaporation.

Crazy hair day in the Junior Department

Boot Camp

The Year 6 Sports Leaders did a fantastic job leading different activities for our Boot Camp!

Year 5's Trumpet and Singing Concert!

This morning the Year 5 children performed for all the parents at their trumpet concert. This was the culmination of 10 weeks hard work and lots of fun learning this instrument, which for most of them, they had no prior knowledge of.

Digital leader network meeting

Today the digital leaders from St Hugh’s came to visit us for a networking meeting. Our digital leaders showed their digital leaders how to code using the crumble. They had great fun learning how to make flashing lights and debug the errors. Then they all had the chance to tinker with the Stikbot animation equipment. They made some great short films. 

Well done to all the digital leaders for working so well collaboratively and having lots of fun.

Year 5 Mr Sands’ class STEM visit to Loreto

Mr Sands’ class visited Loreto today for a science trip. They learned how to separate materials using magnetism, filtering and evaporation. It was great fun!

Maritime Museum trip

On Friday we went to the Maritime Museum for our trip to find out more about the Titanic. We had great fun listening to Donna who told us about Dougles and his bear Polar. Some of use helped tell the story and some of us dressed up. We then had an opportunity to look around the exhibition. Thank you to our wonderful parent helpers who gave up their time to help us on the trip.

Year 6 Science Week

Year 6 have been lucky enough to have Sophie, a zoologist from London University, come into school to talk about animal forensics. We are fancinated by all of the different areas our science learning can take us!
