Stockley Farm visit

Today, Reception had a visit to Stockley Farm. The sun shone and the children had a fantastic time. After drink and a biscuit, we got to feed the baby goats and enjoyed a tractor ride into the woods, singing 'Old Mcdonald had a farm' all the way! In the woods we searched for foxes and rabbit holes and discussed what creatures had the woods for their habitat. We went into the animal handling barn and got to stroke guinea pigs and rabbits: they were very patient with us! After stroking a pony, we got to learn all about chickens and the difference between the cockerals and the hens. We also got to see lots of baby animals before finally getting on the coach, tired and weary, to come home. A great day was had by all.

Stockley Farm Trip

Date: 11th Jul 2018 @ 4:40pm

Today, we were lucky enough to take a trip to Stockley Farm. Whilst we were there we went on a tractor ride, bottle-fed kids and saw lots of different animals like cows, goats, sheep and pigs. We went on a Woodland Walk and saw lots of natural habitats for animals like foxes, buzzards and pheasants. Some of us got to see the exotic animals that are kept there. What an experience! It takes a lot to care for so many animals and to keep the farm clean and tidy for them; there were tractors and farmers that help to keep the farm a lovely environment for the animals and we were so impressed. It was a very busy day down at Stockley Farm!
