Online Safety
Worried About Something Online?
If something online has upset you or made you feel uncomfortable, don't keep it to yourself. There are people who can help.
Children should speak to a trusted adult, such as a parent, carer or a member of staff at school. You can also get advice and support from:
CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) – for reporting concerns about online abuse.
Childline – offering free, confidential support for children and young people online or by calling 0800 1111.
Online Safety at St Vincent's
At St Vincent's, we are committed to creating a safe, positive and responsible digital learning environment. Technology plays an important role in children's education, and we believe that learning how to use it safely is an essential life skill.
Our pupils take part in a progressive online safety curriculum that teaches them how to stay safe, protect their personal information, make good choices online and know what to do if something doesn't feel right.
Our Digital Pupil Leaders play an active role in promoting online safety throughout the school. They help raise awareness through assemblies, competitions, classroom activities and by leading events such as Safer Internet Day, encouraging everyone to be kind, respectful and responsible online.
Working Together
The online world is constantly evolving, bringing exciting opportunities alongside new challenges. By working together, school and home can help children develop the knowledge, confidence and resilience they need to navigate the digital world safely.
We encourage parents and carers to take an active interest in their child's online activity and to have regular conversations about staying safe online.
Below you will find a range of trusted websites, guides and resources to help families support online safety at home and reinforce the learning taking place at school.
