Youth Parliament Trip to 10 Downing Street!
At this very moment, 6 representatives from St. Vincent's Youth Parliament are travelling on a train to London to visit 10 Downing Street. We aim to put live updates of the trip as we are travelling as well as when we on our visit.
Firstly, we have asked the children to write about who they are and what they aim to achieve today:
Please click on the children's names to find out more:
Sammy, Lottie, Maylis, Michael, Ella and Isaac
Whilst we are excited about seeing 10 Downing Street in real life, you can take a virtual tour by following this link
The children also interviewed Mrs Chambers about her son's job as special advisor to the Prime Minister! Please listen to the interview below.
We are now back on the train heading back to Manchester, having had a whistle-stop tour of 10 Downing Street as well as the Houses of Parliament. Everyone we met was very kind and the children have had a wonderful time. From sitting in David Cameron's chair, to seeing the state dining room, the children were immersed in everything the house had to offer. They even got to hold a special sword in the cabinet room! Photographs were not permitted inside the house, but there will be official pictures sent to us in the near future.
The children will be uploading some writing of their experience soon...watch this space!
As you can read by clicking their names, Sammy, Lottie, Isaac, Michael, Maylis and Ella had a great time.
