Today we visited the Liverpool World Museum to start our new topic about the Egyptians. We all had a great day where we were able to learn lots from the exhibitions and our session with Tony, who worked at the museum. We were even able to touch and hold real Egyptians artefacts! In the afternoon we went round the mummy room, where we could see real Egyptian mummy’s! We were all very shocked to see the crocodile mummy!

We are now really excited to start learning about the Egyptians in our history lessons and in producing some writing about Egyptians in English!

World Book Day in the Infant Department!

Date: 7th Mar 2019 @ 10:29am

We had a wonderful celebration for World Book Day in the Infant Department today!

The day started off with all the children gathering in the hall and class by class the children paraded around the hall so we could all see their wonderful costumes!

Well done everyone for making such a fantastic effort and to see the diversity of the costumes from many different books.

The children all enjoyed singing songs from many famous books such as The Lion King, Mary Poppins and many other Disney books.

The children then went to their classrooms where they all enjoyed presenting their book and character to the other children. It was wonderful to see how many different genres and types of books the children are reading.

Later on in the morning, the infant  children all received a visit from their ‘buddy’ class in the juniors and they enjoyed reading the book that their  buddy child had made for them. The children can take these books home and keep them as a special momento from the day.

Each child received a special World Book Day sticker and a book token. Happy reading everyone!

Year 6 Trumpet performance for year 5 children!

Date: 1st Mar 2019 @ 1:29pm

This afternoon, Miss Carr/Mrs Patiniott’s class were luckily enough to have a trumpet performance from two year 6 boys, Ben and Daniel and from Mr Bryan, the music teacher.

They played beautifully for the class and we throroughly enjoyed the music and how expertly they all played. Ben is an accomplished trumpet player and has played at different music concerts before and Daniel has only been playing the trumpet since Christmas so we were very impressed with how quickly he is mastering this instrument. Well done boys!
