The Solar Eclipse Experience!
STOP PRESS!!!
Science became much more real and enjoyable this morning when children, staff and parents stopped to watch the solar eclipse from 8.30am. One of our parents, Mrs Riley, who works in the Educational department at Jodrell Bank set up a telescope and pinhole camera and brought special viewing glasses for the safe viewing of the eclipse. Mrs Riley had spoken to the children the day before to explain about this rare event. Infant children had the opportunity to see the eclipse through the special viewing glasses and the children in KS2 made their own viewing boxes. Mr Noble joined us to photograph the eclipse as it happened. The children will be following this up with discussion and further work in class.
